LINKS is a commissioning fund that supports the creation of significant new repertoire by linking professional faculty members from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) with other professional artists across the country and to enhance the reputation of the school as a vibrant center for artistic creativity.

In its first year, the LINKS commissions focused on the UNCSA School of Music, linking faculty members Lawrence Dillon (composer), Ransom Wilson, Tadeu Coelho, Karen Beres and Kevin Lawrence with external performers and composers, including the Daedulus String Quartet, Mark Engebretson and the PRISM Saxophone Quartet, David Maslanka and the CanAm Piano Duo, Laura Kaminsky, Randall Woolf and Greg Pattillo.

World premieres of Kaminsky's Wave Hill for violin and piano; Maslanka's Quartet for Two Pianos and Two Percussionists; Dillon's String Quartet #4:  The Infinite Sphere; and Woolf's Native Tongues - Concerto for Beat Box Flute and Orchestra will occur in 2009-10 on the UNCSA campus.
